It critically examines the Dutch Chicken of tomorrow case, in which the antitrust authority (ACM) investigated a proposed agreement between various members of the poultry production market aimed at protecting the environment and enhancing animal welfare. The ACM invoked the economic concept of consumer welfare, thus preventing the agreement from going into effect. As a counterbalance, the Brazilian Amazon Soy Moratorium project is presented – a market-wide agreement that has led to a significant reduction in the level of deforestation in less than 20 years. The article also presents the demands of businesses and various institutions (both national and supranational), thus showing the need for changes in competition law policy in the European Union and their likely direction in the coming years.}, type={text}, title={Porozumienia z zakresu zrównoważonego rozwoju w łańcuchu żywnościowym – prawo konkurencji jako element hamujący rozwój sustainable food chain}, doi={10.34616/144217}, keywords={food law, competition policy, economization of competition law, consumer welfare}, }
