In order to discover the issues under discussion the attention in the article is drawn to the fact that corruption criminality in Ukraine is one of the most massive types of criminal activity, and therefore it should become a key object of criminological research in the short term perspective.As a result of research it is established that one of the key features of corruption criminality is its massive character, the awareness of the causes and conditions of which is an essential basis for the development of effective means of corruption combating. From the content point of view, it is revealed that a massive character of corruption consists both in the presence of a critical mass of citizens who experienced committing of the corruption crimes of a particular degree of severity with certain frequency and an unreasonably tolerant social attitude to corruption practices. Meanwhile, it is determined that in the functional aspect the massive involvement in corruption becomes a permanent criminological factor that has a high potential for corruptive behavior models perpetuation facilitating.In this research there are highlighted the key factors that form the public perception of corruption admissibility, the role of the public morality in the massive involvement in corruption is defined. Among the causes of the massive involvement in corruption in Ukraine there is mentioned the absence of a proper worldview not only among ordinary citizens, but among the political elite forming national political and legal discourse as well.On the basis of the subjective attitude of an average citizen giving undue benefits to the state machinery representatives analysis, there is detected an organic connection between the facts of ineffective implementation of state functions, resulting in deficient legislation and bureaucratic apparatus unprofessional performance, and the level of massive involvement in corruption. A special emphasis is put on the important role of the mechanisms of moral self-justification in the citizens’ perception of corruption as an integral part of social reality.According to research, there are suggested specific measures aimed at the massive involvement in corruption reduction as a constituent of a general strategy of corruption combating and neutralization of the socially dangerous consequences of the latter. It is proved that in order to counteract corruption, as a mass phenomenon, it is required to apply completely different approaches than when it comes to the state response to separate corruption crimes.Thus, it is highlighted that the necessary condition for the massive involvement in corruption counteracting is the increase of public morality whereas it shall not be considered as a goal in itself, as it is not possible without a significant change in approaches to the state functioning, the work of state bodies, their officials and officers, as well as development and implementation of the normative legal acts.}, title={Massive involvement as a characteristic feature of corruptionin Ukraine}, title={Masovìst′ âk harakterna oznaka korupcїї v Ukraїnì}, keywords={massive involvement, massive involvement in corrupt criminality, acceptable level of corruption, corruption control strategy}, }
