The text analyzes the genesis of modernist urbanism (based on the concept of Ebenezer Howard and Le Corbusier). It also presents Jane Jacobs' attitude to their American realizations in city planning (on the example of Robert Moses, the City Beautiful Movement, and the character of Lewis Mumford).
