This phenomenon – increasingly popular in the contemporary world – is interpreted by many researchers as a gesture of opposition to the ever-increasing speed of changes, as well as being a derivative of the growing uncertainty. However, it is emphasised as well that nostalgia is one of the major trends that are explored by the consumer culture and the entertainment industry. The nostalgic turn is also strongly present in the young generation. It is reflected, inter alia, in the fascination of both the nineties of the 20th century and the period before the fall of the Iron Curtain, or in the increased interest in history and attempts to reconstruct it. The article analyses this phenomenon in relation to the newest theories in social sciences and humanities.}, title={Utopijne powroty do przeszłości: młode pokolenie wobec zwrotu nostalgicznego}, keywords={temporal orientation, nostalgic turn, retrotopia, popular culture, consumerism}, }
