 abstract={In 1948 the National Organization „Service to Poland” was established, which was entrusted with the mission of shaping young people’s attitudes in line with state policy. The article deals with the functioning of youth in farm brigades of the National Organization „Service to Poland” recruited from the territory of the Katowice Province. Based on analysis of archival materials, the daily life of the youngsters (“junaks”) and the indoctrination methods used by the authorities are presented.},
