The Supreme Judicial Council safeguards the independence of the common judiciary and the Presidium of the Administrative Judiciary Council — administrative judiciary. Despite the different composition of those organs, each of them ensures proper representation of judges of common and administrative courts. The election of judges by judges is the basic principle for the selection of the new council members.
