The document was published for the first Malaysian astronaut – Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor. As a religious man he wanted to be sure his salvation wouldn’t be affected by his spaceflight. The guideline allows any Muslim astronaut to be focused on their research in space and at the same time fulfill all of their obligations as a Muslim.
