The analysis is based on Piḷḷai Lōkācāriyar’s Mumukṣuppaṭi, a medieval text in Tamil xplaining theological and philosophical dimensions of these mantras. Piḷḷai Lōkācāriyar uses thetext of ćaramaśloka to present his own position on the fundamental issues of god and souls.
