The first part of the elaboration focuses on the historical issues, in particular on the perception of a different, from an individual, legal subjectivity in Roman law or law of the Middle Ages and on the development of the independent legal personality construction in a public law and then its adaptation in the economic relations. A huge part of this part aims to familiarize readers with the topic of legal subjectivity evolution in Great Britain. In the further part of the elaboration the term of legal personality under the applicable Polish law is analysed. Apart of the detailed exegesis of art. 33 of the Civil Code it also provides some broad reflections on the social perception of the legal entity, the utilitarian character of this phenomenon and doctrinal constructions used in analysing the terms linked to the functioning of legal entities. This part discusses also constructional characteristics of a legal entity functioning in a trade, including specific structure, name (firm), a manner of the assignment of natural persons actions to the abstract construction of the legal entity. In what follows we will discuss the types of legal entities, as well as the scope of their legal capacity.
