This playing with literary convention is intentional and it aims to create a comical effect. It is, however, not only a way of achieving a humorous effect. Pratchett also distances himself from the oral structure and origin of the epics by creating ostentatiously literal environments for his characters. He shows the Homeric epics through the prism of later reception and the twentieth-century education system. It is not only the reader who recognises the conventional motives, but also the characters ‘inside’ the novel.}, title={Zanegowanie ustności jako źródło komizmu w Eryku Terry’ego Pratchetta}, type={tekst}, doi={https://doi.org/10.23734/QO.2016.2.2.208.221}, keywords={oralność, Pratchett, Terry, komizm, tradycja klasyczna}, }
