This paper will link the ideas of transcreation, a part of industry, to Translation Studies, an academic discipline, by analysing statements obtained from transcreators through a survey, in order to integrate their conceptualisation of transcreation into the context of teaching translation at the tertiary level. It proves crucial to identify the specific transcreation competencies and to develop models that can guide the forming of new courses for future translators, which gives additional value to current university curriculum. Based on the existing research and models and supplementing them with further developments, the authors conducted a survey to examine the concept of transcreation as represented by industry experts in Poland and Serbia.
