It also examines the challenges related to the implementation of PQC in key European projects such as the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet), which is set to become a central element of the European Union (EU) digital ecosystem. In the post-quantum era, PQC will not only be a tool for protection against new threats, but also a key element of legal regulations, such as eIDAS 2 and NIS 2, aimed at ensuring the security and interoperability of digital systems in the EU.
