 abstract={The article presents the problem of creating a so-called "smart grid" in Poland. Electricity recipients will have smart meters, and the data will be processed in special IT systems. In Poland, as a result of the amendment to the Energy Law, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office appoints the Energy Market Information Operator. This operator is a state-owned company and the operator of the Polish electricity transmission system, PSE S.A. (Polish company name: ”Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A.” can be translated as “Polish Electricity Networks S.A.” or “Polish Power Grids S.A.”). It is responsible for the operation of the Central Energy Market Information System. The operation of the system requires appropriate data protection. Data on the consumption of electricity by the recipient can provide a lot of information, which is why it is necessary to properly comply with the regulations on cybersecurity and personal data protection.},
