 abstract={The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of the heritage inventory and to determine whether there has been a confusion between the functions of the heritage inventory and the heritage register in the legal system of heritage protection. The author notes that, from a historical and systemic perspective, the functions of these two evidential tools should be fundamentally different and that taking into account the different social needs and purposes they serve would allow for a rational rearrangement of the system of heritage protection law and bringing the provisions challenged by the Constitutional Tribunal's judgment of 11 May 2023 into conformity with the Constitution.},
