For this purpose, it draws on an analysis of Voegelin’s pre-war writings, particularly "The Authoritarian State" and his reviews of "Constitutional Theory". The discussed material suggests a substantial degree of inspiration derived from Schmitt’s concepts in Voegelin’s thought, especially in terms of his critique of normativism and his understanding of the totality of contemporary political movements. On the other hand, significant differences are apparent in their views on the impact of political beliefs and ideas on authority, as well as in their assessments of the scientific validity of certain concepts, such as legality or the total state. The article also addresses the influence of Schmitt’s thought on Voegelin’s post-war work, particularly in the context of representation theory. Furthermore, attention is also given to their shared inspiration from French constitutional thought, especially the theories of Maurice Hauriou.}, title={Carl Schmitt w pismach Erica Voegelina}, type={text}, type={Journal}, doi={https://doi.org/10.34616/151176}, keywords={Voegelin, Eric (1901-1985), Schmitt, Carl (1888-1985), teoria prawa, konstytucja}, }
