 abstract={The character of the catalogue of events resulting in expiration of the employment contract causes much controversy in the doctrine and judicature. Some of the doctrine’s representatives consider that this catalogue is closed, while others undermine this thesis by claiming that other situations besides those indicated in the Labour Code and special provisions also trigger such an effect. The author analyses the character of the catalogue of causes for expiration of the employment contract in the statements of science and judicature, analyses the catalogue in the light of interpretation of Article 63 of the Labour Code and draws conclusions about the form of the legal regulation.},
