 abstract={The article is an attempt to approach controversial issues related to compulsory treatment or rehabilitation of addicts in penitentiary isolation on the background of the regulation of Article 117 of the Executive Penal Code. The considerations take into account the amendment of this regulation by the Act of 5 August 2022. The amendment brought the provisions into line with constitutional standards, ensuring that the convicted person’s rights are protected by introducing the necessary procedural guarantees. Certain de lege ferenda postulates are within the scope of the analysis are formulated as part of the conclusion.},
