 abstract={This article aims to discuss the changes proposed by the European Union within the new project on the Product Liability Directive in the context of their use to claim civil liability for artificial intelligence. The author discusses issues relating to the initial stage of work on the proposal, i.e. the scope raised within public consultations. Subsequently, the author analyses crucial changes regarding the content of the Directive itself, including such points as the material scope of the act, personal applicability and procedural matters. Discussed changes mainly revolve around the expansion of the definitional framework and the use of appropriate legal constructions in order to adapt the regulations of the Directive to the specificity of claims related to the activity of artificial intelligence systems.},
