 abstract={The purpose of this paper is to describe distributed ledger technology. It ensures the integrity, immutability and authenticity of the information stored inside it. It excludes the possibility of unilateral change or deletion of information once saved. It also guarantees an extremely high level of data security, e.g. through technical advancement of information encryption. In addition, this technology is characterized by exceptional durability, detached from devices used to create and maintain a ledger. Blockchain technology will find application in the life of an average consumer at every step – one will be able to come across it in a bank or office, whilst concluding a contract with an insurer or making purchases in an online store.},
