abstract={Arbitration, which is a non-adjudication method of dispute resolution, is relatively popular in China. Indeed, China has not adopted UNCITRAL Model Law thus far. Nonetheless, the Arbitration Law of the People’s Republic of China, adopted in 1994, reflects international standards, for instance the principle of party autonomy and separability (autonomy) of the arbitration clause. Despite this fact, this paper seeks to prove that China has a unique system of arbitration, the so-called arbitration with Chinese characteristics. The aim of this article is thus to outline the most significant differences between Chinese arbitration law and the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration in comparative perspective.},
