  In the article the author connects the issue of success in school education with pedagogical issues utopia. The author analyzes the problems of utopia referring to two myths contained in the Hebrew Bible and its interpretation by Erich Fromm and George Steiner. These are the myth of Adam and Eve’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden, and the myth of the builders of Babel. Fromm and Steiner draw attention to two important conditions for the implementation of utopia – disobedience and translation.
