The paper focuses on the learning environment in the learning process. Attention was paid to the need to abandon the concept of didactic transmission with the use of illustrative materials to create the conditions for independent building of knowledge in interaction with the object of knowledge. The key is to start heuristic thinking and the decision of the appropriate research strategy. A teaching aid becomes an external mediator through which the student thinks, while the object allows you to reveal his way of thinking.
