  The article is an attempt at a cross-sectional review of educational motifs in audio-visual narratives of the science-fiction (SF) genre. The main thesis of the text is the observation that SF authors are reluctant to take upand develop educational themes. As a rule, the SF creators are more interested in the idea of bringing artificial life into the world and the moral and practical consequences of doing so. The lack of interest in educational themes in SF narratives also seems to be closely connected with the broader crisis of the ideaof school and education in contemporary popular culture. If school appears in SF works it is most often in anti-utopian contexts, as an oppressive institution that is a part of authoritarian or totalitarian power. More often we can witness ruthless indoctrination and disciplining rather than teaching. The article also discusses the motifs of parenting and upbringing in selected recent SF series and films.;
  
  
  
  Artykuł jest próbą przekrojowego przeglądu motywów edukacyjnych w audio-wizualnych narracjach gatunku science-fiction (SF). Główna tezą tekstu jest obserwacja, iż SF dość niechętnie podejmuje i rozwija wątki edukacyjne. Z reguły twórcy SF bardziej interesują się ideą sprowadzenia na świat sztucznego życia oraz moralnymi i praktycznymi konsekwencjami takiego postępowania. Brak zainteresowania tematyką edukacyjną w narracjach SF wydaje się być też ściśle połączony z szerszym kryzysem idei szkoły i edukacji we współczesnej kulturze popularnej. Jeżeli szkoła pojawia się w utworach SF to najczęściej w kontekstach antyutopijnych, jako instytucja opresyjna, funkcjonująca w ramach umacniania autorytarnej lub totalitarnej władzy. Na ekranach częściej widzimy bezwzględną indoktrynację i dyscyplinowanie niż uczenie. W dalszej części tekst omawia motywy rodzicielstwa i wychowania w wybranych serialach i filmach SF z ostatnich lat.
