Contemporary primary teachers' functioning based on the comparative research conducted in southern Poland (Podkarpackie and Małopolskie voivodship) and northern (Sárospatak) and southern Hungary (Kaposvári)
In the text of the article the analysis of teachers’ functioning in contemporary primary school was performed. The detailed study was devoted to teachers’ importance in children education, their competencies, personal qualities and roles served in educational-pedagogical process. Determinants of teachers’ position in society were also characterized. The article contains the theoretical part and the analysis of research results done among 100 Polish teachers from Małopolskie and Podkarpackie voivodships and 96 teachers from northern Sárospatak) and southern Hungary (Kaposvári). The analysis of research results was conducted taking seniority and function of class tutor into account.
