TY - GEN A1 - Wilczura, Aleksandra PB - Instytut Pedagogiki Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego N2 - The article presents cultural, social and educational initiatives aiming at social inclusion within the Polish Jewish community undertaken by members of Cukunft Jewish Association, a non-profit, secular Jewish organization, whose activities are rooted in religious Jewish values, which the organization attempts to promote both within Jewish and non-Jewish (secular, Catholic, Protestant and Muslim) communities. Through this innovative approach Cukunft attempts to address important social problems, such as: stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination and exclusion on the grounds of religious affiliation, ethnic and national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation and social status. Cukunft supports the development of more diverse Polish civic society, open to embrace the the heritage of Polish minority groups, and actively combats all forms of racism, antisemitism, xenophobia and social exclusion. In these endeavors, it draws from religious Jewish education to give traditional Jewish values a new, more universal meaning, thus making them present again in public sphere.
