One of its consequences is emergence of new geopolitical entities – the People's Republic of Donietsk and the People's Republic of Lugansk. In spite of the fact that circumstances of their origins are highly controversial, it is impossible to ignore the fact of emergence of new entities. Emergence of the PRD and PRL rises a question about their legal status. However, the answer is ambiguous. Definitely they cannot be determined as sovereign states due to the failure to meet criteria of such a state that operate under the international law. However, the question concerning the role of the third state, i.e. Russia, in formation of these states and real strong Russian influence in both republics is still open. These factors determine the definition of the PRD and PRL either as the so called puppet states or as the so called de facto states.}, type={text}, title={Status prawny Donieckiej Republiki Ludowej i Ługańskiej Republiki Ludowej}, keywords={Doniecka Republika Ludowa, Ługańska Republika Ludowa, państwo de facto, państwo marionetkowe, prawo międzynarodowe}, }
